    I have the same helmet. I use it for dual sport Enduro and a bit of road riding. It's amazing for the price. Definitely not amazing for going over 100km/h it's super noisy and the peak really picks up the wind (it's removable so that's definitely an option for long road rides). Be careful when removing the lining for washing, I've accidentally pulled the rear clips out entirely out of the helmet, put something between the two bits of the clip to separate them. Other than that, great helmet, love it. You can get a visor that tints itself based on the amount of light (photochromic) for it, pretty cool upgrade.

    • @outie555
      @outie555 8 годин тому

      Yeah it really is a good helmet and the fact it's got MIPS is outstanding at that price point. Too bad it doesn't have an internal sunglass visor but like you said you can get tinted visors so it's not all bad.

    For me the first thing was butt comfort than seat height. The taller seat is also flatter so I can move back n forward on it. With my lower seat I did find it easy to slide up to the tank end but did not check if the front rubber caps are missing. The taller seat is a bit tougher to slide towards the tank end and I have now glued the rubber mounts to the seat. I like the 3D printer idea and have been interested in getting one and using it to print various little parts that are not easy to get or replace. I have been looking at bar raisers too. Not to raise them much but to try and move them forward a bit. I have already rolled them forward/upwards like I have on my enduro bike. It seems like everything I have thought of and been looking at doing,you have already dpne them or had similar ideas. Thanks.

      Yeah it is handy having a 3d printer. I use tinkercad to make things as it's relatively easy to use. It's just a website so it's pretty basic but good enough for simple designs. I just put the bar raisers on and they are excellent.

But when I took the seat off they were already missing. Probably on the dealerships floor or fell out of the bike and onto the road if they were still bouncing around the battery bay.

    maaaate, your 'vlog' is exceptional and i for one appreciate the 'flaws' being addressed from a fellow tall man's perspective; looks like i will add another inch (25mm) to my seat foam; hopefully there's enough cover material so that i can undo it and re-use it; if not, well it wouldn't be the first time i've needed to re-cover a bike seat.... i was thinking of your solution for the seat rubbers as soon as i realised (discovered) what the seat rubbers contact with; my immediate thought was to take the seat rubbers from the base and simply add them to the frame instead but your design is much better; to add to this 'mod', if i may make a suggestion: it would be beneficial to fill the hole where the original rubbers sit in the seat and i would (will) glue your new parts to the frame; a good contact cement should do the trick; did you make sure to re-glue all the other seat base rubbers while you're at it?....again, i would (will) when i get my 450MT; hopefully by the end of this month if the dealer is to be taken on his word; Question: do you take 'custom' work requests with your 3d printer by any chance?; i have a little project i am working on that would benefit from 3D printed parts; i just need someone i can trust to do the job; i have already made prototypes that i can send to you. Cheers!

    • @outie555
      @outie555 11 годин тому

      Where the holes in the frame are, is not where the seat rubbers contact. They contact about 1.5cm towards the front of the bike, so if you do glue the seat ones in, I'd suggest glueing to the seat. The 3d printed ones fit nice and firmly and physically cannot come out when the seat is on as they are held in place by the seat as well as the lug part that goes into the hole. What is it that you're prototyping?

    Great skills in 3D Printing Outie! Is there a groove cutout in the sheet metal to lock the parts in or have you printed it to be the thickness of the sheet metal tabs? I wonder if they can simply be rectangular in profile & have a wider groove tang (or 2) to squeeze in? The 870mm seat can be set to 850mm by using the lowest link in the rear shock arm🤔

    • @outie555

      The metal part has a hole in them already, probably so the same part can be used in other bikes in the cfmoto range. The 3d printed pads have a lug that just pops into them for a firm fit.

That is where I should have stopped and turned around as I was only having my first dirt ride on the bike. I had all intention of waiting until I had the crash bars. Thanks for the mention mate i appreciate it 👍. I had mine service and they charged me $300. So you got yours really cheap. Took mine for a ride today and found i was having trouble changing down gears, i remember they said the clutch had been adjusted. I think loosened it so much it wasnt fully disengaging. Will try it again tomorrow and re ajust. New seat looks good i have one ordered . Cheers.

      No worries man, you've got a good channel. Hopefully it is as simple as adjusting the clutch cable.

      what did they adjust with the clutch Baz?

      You might need a new dealer if they adjusted the clutch, made it worse, and didn’t test their adjustment. Bad practice

      @outie555 Thanks outie, I'm enjoying your channel too. I did adjust the clutch a bit can't really blame the guys if that is what's in the manual. I did discover the pivot point on the selector linkage had seized up a bit and wasn't moving freely. A hit with wd40 fixed it.

    $225 seems reasonable for oil, filter and service; did you ask what oil they used? i see other CFmoto models have a Motul Oils sticker near the oil filler cap; i'd be inclined to see the old oil filter just to check for myself how the run-in period went; the last thing we want to see is a metallic tinge to the oil. the High seat looks great...more streamlined and flowing from the tank. glad that you're happy with it seeing as we're roughly the same height. my old knees don't work as good as they once did.

    • @outie555

      Yeah I was happy with that price. No I didn't ask about the oil as I picked it up late in the afternoon and only saw the sales guy not the mechanics.

    Just a couple of questions mate, did you have a new high seat fitted, or did they adjust it at the bottom of the rear shock? and, how much have you spent so far on the extras, like the bash plate and tall screen, etc? Cheers,

      @outie555 День тому

      High seat is an optional accessory. So now I have two seats. The lowering link built into the bike is in the standard position but can be lowered to lower the bike 2cm. All the accessories pricing is on the website. It's hard to get to so here is the link. Just add the bike then the accessories will come up. cfmoto450.com.au/shop/

      They had one that someone else was buying so they would have picked it up already. But it's popular so best to ring them and see, as I'm sure they will have one in the store sooner rather than later.
